Cheney thumbs nose at investigation

WASHINGTON D.C. - Former Vice President Dick Cheney yesterday condemned the Justice Department's decision last Monday to investigate suspected CIA prisoner abuses, indicating that he might thumb his nose at the Special Prosecutor, but is also considering giving him the finger. Cheney said he thought about mooning the Special Prosecutor, but decided that would be undignified for a former Vice President.

Cheney, in a taped Fox News infomercial that aired yesterday, said President Obama set a "terrible precedent" by allowing an "intensely partisan, politicized look back at the prior administration." Cheney continued, "Who the hell are they to question us, particularly as we approach the anniversary of 9-11. Think about it, 9-11. We had to respond to 9-11. How dare they raise questions. Did I mention 9-11?"

Cheney said he was aware of a Bush administration order banning the CIA from advising Congress about a program to kill or capture terrorists. "Of course I was aware of it," said the former Vice President. "Hell, I thought of it in the shower after watching a James Bond movie."

The House intelligence panel is investigating whether the CIA broke the law by not telling Congress of the secret program. Cheney derided the House investigation, saying, "Those chumps don't even know what they don't know. I mean, do you think we told them about the Death Star project?" When pressed to explain his Death Star comment, Cheney replied, "Hey, that's not in the interview script I gave you, and don't go thinking you are a real news network or something."
